About Our Program

The Mission of this program is to empower student achievement one student at a time to ensure that no child would ever be left behind.

Christian ChurchThe Higher Ground tutorial program is targeted at youth, kindergarten - 12th grade, who have difficulty in their academic achievements and difficulty functioning in the regular school setting.  Youth will be helped in maximizing their learning potential; identify and bring together their talents and effectively redistribute them in an effort to not only build self-esteem and self-worth individually, but to help build it in others.  Thereby helping to build a strong community.  The "Higher Ground" tutorial program will provide tutoring in the academic curriculums and recreational activities.

The Need

Education working to empower youth who lack skills necessary to maximize their academic potential - Inclusive of the basic public school programming, we will provide after school tutoring assistance to ensure that each child achieves competency in homework assignments, group reading, mathematics, science and civic skills.

Parental support: productive learning environment: financial resources - A growing number of youth live in single parent, female headed households, most of which have challenges in directing their children in a holistic environment.  There are many programs in our communities, all attempting to address this concern. However, there are very few comprehensive programs that combine the efforts of neighborhood residents, schools, and churches to stem the tide of academic decay.
